Poses to Avoid During Pregnancy
by: Giselle

Hello and welcome to the Eternity Yoga Forums!

Yoga postures for pregnancy are gentle and very effective to ease you all the way through labor, but just in case you have limitations it is a good idea to get approval from your doctor first. If all is clear, proceed with some of the poses shown in this site for pregnancy. You should avoid any poses that are too challenging. Avoid deep abdominal twists, lying on your belly, or crunching of the mid-section. Practice hip openers, gentle arm strengtheners, such as modified push-ups, and warrior poses to keep the lower body strengthened. There are many Pregnancy DVD's available if you cannot find a qualified yoga instructor in your area. I will be doing Yoga for Pregnancy videos in the near future. Let me know if I can help you further! Namaste, Giselle
